Whitewash

I'm sitting here, writing this post in what should be a hot, steamy Queensland summer, and instead it's been cold and raining for days. And to make matters worse, there have been next to no fabulous white beach houses to ogle - totally depressing. So I was very excited to find this gem. Designer digs

I first came across the work of building designer <a href="http://dgbuilding.com.au/">Dion Gadd</a> when it was featured in <a href="http://queenslandhomes.com.au/">Queensland Homes magazine</a> a few years ago. Since then, it seems his work has gone from strength to strength, and with a recent win for the 2010 HIA-CSR Queensland Home of the Year, it looks like the sky's the limit. This latest home in Settler's Cove, Noosa, is a fabulous example of how to work with a sloping block, not against it - and the results speak for themselves.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; I don't know what it is about the houses on Sydney's Northern Beaches, but I can't get enough of their particular style of beach chic. Hamptons Style Mark III

Before I start today's post, a little snake update: unfortunately, our friend has disappeared. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to see him gone, I just hope it's a permanent move on his part.
